A Georgia woman arrested Wednesday on a murder charge told the judge at her arraignment Thursday that Allah would be representing her.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 32-year-old Sahara Tabriz Fakhir, was charged with fatally stabbing her neighbor, Douglas County business owner Jerry Wheeler last month. Yesterday in court, she said:
Allah is my lawyer and if you do not release me, Allah will have his vengeance on you like he did in 2009 when he sent the flood. It’s only going to be worse.
Fakhir demanded to be released from jail, calling the courthouse “a cursed place.”
Wheeler, 66, owner of Lee Road Auto Service, was found dead in his home on June 19 by his son, a local sheriff’s deputy. Authorities have declined to discuss a possible motive in the crime.
Douglas County coroner Randy Daniel told paper that Wheeler was “a great man,” adding, “I don’t know why in God’s name anyone would want to hurt him.”
Jail records show that Fakhir is being held on charges of murder charge and giving false information to police.
